Taking This Week Off
09.11.2007- CST
Okie dokie folks!
In typical Kelly fashion I just ran through the terminal and am sitting on a plane. I actually got here 2 hours early but then I went to look for a new book… OOPS! I almost missed the flight. Yep that’s me. So The Dollyrots are taking this week off. Well, through Thursday at least. We have all gone in different directions for a much needed break. Not so much a break from one another… it’s pretty strange how much I miss them already. We are a happy little family… BUT we’ve been on the road for so long. I haven’t had a vacation in years and years. I’m heading off to a tropical paradise in the Pacific Ocean and can’t wait to sip some Mai Tai’s and float with sea turtles. BUT FIRST! I wanted to fill you in on the end of the tour!
Sadly the no a/c situation is what first comes to mind, that and the van totally dying in Atlanta! But the shows really were great! Milestone is always sweet, Atlanta rocked with the Luchagores. Then we had to drive straight from Atlanta to Dallas and THEN in San Antonio dunnn dunnn dunnnnn KEPI (Groovie Ghoulies) appeared! He has a new project called The Cave Bats with the girls from the Little Madusas! They played a bunch of Groovie Ghoulies songs and it was so much fun! Luis and I “did the bat” on stage and then all of us, The Sweethearts too, closed the night with a Teenage Bottlerocket sing-along! We played the next couple dates all together… us, The Cave Bas AND The very sweet Sweethearts! It was so much fun! From there we went on through El Paso where we met Atomic Pink, three adorable sisters who rocked it real good! Then we hit up Tempe and drove through the night to LA! We all hung out at my place and had a spaghetti feast before heading out to our homecoming show!!!!! Which was… well… awesome! It was great to play with Kilola finally and so good to see all our friends!
The flight attendant has just told me to turn off my computer. I think I will happily oblige. See you soon!
Mooka laka hee kee!
