The annual Q Awards took place in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in front of a star studded audience and Music Industry. Guests at the lunch time event included Coldplay, David Gilmour, Keane, Roger Daltrey, Kaiser Chiefs, John Mellancamp, Stereophonics, Tom Jones, The Fratellis, Keane, Sugababes, Glen Campbell, Adam Ant, Grace Jones and Meat Loaf to name a few.

Columbia Records announces the worldwide release of "Black Ice," the long awaited new studio album from AC/DC, on Monday, October 20. "Black Ice," the first full-length studio album of all-new material from AC/DC since the release of "Stiff Upper Lip" in 2000, is the band's debut recording for Columbia Records.

Phil Manzanera host of new Planet Rock Radio series “A Plank of Wood and Six Strings” joins the judging panel for a special online guitar riff competition in association with Gibson Guitar and Haynes Publishing. To mark the launch of the Gibson Les Paul Manual, Gibson Guitar and Haynes Publishing are collaborating on a special competition for guitar players of all ages. This is an opportunity for guitarists of all capabilities to demonstrate their skills and be in with a chance of winning a Gibson Les Paul guitar. On 21st September 2008 a host of international stars took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London to support the Peace One Day Celebration, marking Peace Day. 21st September has been adopted by every member state of The United Nations as an annual day of global cease-fire and non violence. Peace One Day is a non-profit organisation founded in 1999 by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley.

Joanne Brackeen is one of jazz's most prized possessions: a virtuoso pianist and master composer who epitomizes the history and evolution of jazz from traditional to free, and everything in between; all with a contemporary edge. Born in Southern California, she began jamming at an early age. Joanne's unique sound was honed through a period of apprenticeship with some of the world's greatest names on the West Coast - playing with the likes of Dexter Gordon, Harold Land, Bobby Hutcherson and Billy Higgins - before moving to New York after marrying saxophonist Charles Brackeen, where she began to command the attention of the upper echelon of jazz players and played with Woody Shaw and Dave Liebman while raising four children.

This past weekend, Glenn Hughes performed in his hometown of Wolverhampton, England, at a venue called The Robin 2. It was a very special “Evening with Glenn Hughes” and featured a very moving tribute to the late Mel Galley, former Trapeze and Whitesnake guitarist. At one point, he was joined on-stage by Mel’s widow, Annette Galley.
